6 Liquors for a Rebel Nation New Year's Eve

As Grove-goers always say: “We may not win every game, but we’ve never lost a party,” and it’s a fact that nobody can party like our Rebel Nation. And with New Year’s Eve upon us, we decided to poll some of our Hotty Toddy readers and see what their libations of choice are for this most special night.
The top 5 liquors of choice are below, from the No. 1 liquor to No. 5. So as we prepare for a safe and fun New Year’s Eve, we here at Hotty Toddy.com remind you to always be a responsible drinker and have a designated driver among your group. And if your favorite didn’t make our list, send us your New Year’s Eve pics tonight as you’re all making merry and show us what it is!
Have fun, be safe and Happy New Year!
1. Whiskey: Brands such as Jack Daniels, Jim Beam and Wild Turkey made the cut. And, for the more discriminate tastes, Maker’s mark, Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace were the brand choices.
2. Tequila: Unlike whiskies or wines, tequilas aren’t necessarily better with age. That being said, aging can sometimes mask a lesser tequila. From our Rebel readers, here are some brands that they like to call friends: Patrón, Don Julio and good old Jose Cuervo.
3. Vodka: Mixed with O.J. or grapefruit juice, or blended up in a Bloody Mary, Vodka is a favorite among a lot of people for its smooth, easy taste. Favorite brands are: Smirnoff, Grey Goose and Skyy.
4. Rum: And Captain Morgan said “drink up!” From a Daiquiri to a tropical Piña Colada, Rum was a big favorite among readers’ cocktail mixers. Chosen brands: Bacardi, Appleton and Captain Morgan.
5. Gin: Made from Juniper Berries, there are different types of gin like Damson Gin and Sloe Gin. Some of our readers’ favorite brands are: Williams Chase, Beefeaters and Bombay.
6. Champagne: The classic New Year’s Eve drink to toast with at midnight as well as mix a little along the way. Moet & Chandon is always a nice choice, but you can go a long way with a few bottles of Andre.
Have a great New Year’s Eve and here’s mud in your eye. Happy New Year!
