Salad Days, Part 6: Bouré's Southwest Fried Chicken Salad

Yep, I’m still claiming I sometimes eat healthy. I suppose that claim today is stretched as thin as Stretch Armstrong’s arms pulled to their limits by two kids hopped up on Pop Rocks.
As I have written here before, I have attempted to mill about town like Peter Rabbit in Mr. McGregor’s garden, looking for salads to help me cut a few calories and some fat out of my roll. Literally, I mean the big fat roll around my waist.
I can appreciate a good salad, though more often than not, salad intentions turn into pizza or a burger once I pick up a menu. Nonetheless, I have, with all my might, managed to veer toward the greens a few times, such as with Proud Larry’s Shrimp Salad, the Ajax Salad and Pop’s Shrimp Salad at Ajax Diner, a salad at Oxford Canteen, and a Caesar at Soulshine Pizza Factory. Today I stayed within the confines of the Square area, despite that walking farther might actually burn a few calories.
Anyway, I found myself seated at the downstairs bar at Bouré, ordering the Southwest Fried Chicken Salad sports black beans, tomatoes, green chilis, tortilla strips, shredded cheddar, jack cheese, and creamy Bouré Dressing. The fried chicken tenders were terrific, with that slight burnt tinge to them. Because all this was positioned on top of and amongst lettuce, I will continue to claim a healthy lifestyle. Thanks, Bouré!
