No Time 2 Cook Recipe of the Week: Apple Cranberry & Walnut Salad
The temperature is changing outside along with the color of the leaves! When this time of year rolls around, we start thinking of hearty foods that create memories indoors with our families, don’t we?! This salad is a favorite to partner with my Chicken & Dressing or any hearty entree, as a light and fresh side. Regardless if you are a novice in the kitchen or an expert foodie, this recipe is great to store away in your recipe box.
Also, see Karen’s Kitchen Tip below for roasting walnuts (or any kind of nut)!
Ingredients:
- 4 cups mixed salad greens
- 1 Granny Smith or Red Delicious Apple, sliced or cubed
- 2-3 T dried cranberries
- 2-3 T Walnuts, toasted and chopped*
- Briannas® Blush Wine Vinaigrette Dressing
Directions: Toss above ingredients together and serve immediately. (Briannas Blush Vinaigrette Dressing is commonly found in grocery stores)
Karen’s Kitchen Tip: A quick easy method for toasting walnuts is to microwave them, stirring every minute. You will know they are ready when they give off a rich nutty aroma in about 5-8 minutes.
