Food Frenzy: Snackbar and Lamar Lounge Pop-Ups This Weekend
Eats, sweets, and a musical treat — Oxford restaurants Snackbar and Lamar Lounge are hosting two pop-up events.
This Thursday night, March 26, Snackbar is introducing Big Bad Late Night, and Friday night, Lamar Lounge is putting on a cook-off between chef John Currence and chef Sean Brock.
One of Oxford’s many great restaurants is Snackbar, located off North Lamar in-between BBB and Southern Stars Yoga Studio. Known for its classic cocktails and rugged atmosphere this menu has a little bit of everything for everyone. But tonight they are changing things up. Big Bad Breakfast is taking control of the kitchen for this pop-up. The menu is loaded with old favorites and new surprises. It’s going to be delicious. The event starts at 9:30 p.m. and lasts until 12:30 a.m., and the band Rocket 88 will be performing. The music and food will be worth staying awake for.
But wait, there’s more. Friday night starting at 5:30 p.m., the Big Bad Minero Pop-up will be held at the Lamar Lounge. This is a Mexican food themed pop-up that includes a duel challenge between chef John Currence and celebrity chef Sean Brock. All the proceeds from this event will be given to the Oxford City Market EBT Program. Chef Brock will also be selling and signing copies of his new cookbook, Heritage. Come hungry, leave happy, and benefit the community.
These events will satisfy the food lover in all of us. If you want to go outside the box and try something new, then head over to the Snackbar and the Lamar Lounge for food galore.
