EatingOxford: New Cupcake Shop Opens
If you’ve ever shopped at Oxford Flea, the Oxford City Market, Mid-Town Farmer’s Market or Oxford Maker’s Market, you’ve undoubtedly tried Mugg Cakes.
Owned by the ever-effervescent entrepreneur Karri Brown, Mugg Cakes are gourmet cakes served inside or outside of a mug in flavors ranging from the traditional chocolate and vanilla to the delectable honey lavender, ginger spice and lemon blueberry.

After more than a year of traveling around to events, parties and markets, Brown said that having a home base will allow Mugg Cakes to invite customers in-house for birthday parties, special events, movie nights, and more.
“I’m in the process of creating an event calendar and we have several local artists displaying their work in the store,” said Brown. “Additionally, we cater—and host—any and all types of events.”
Mugg Cakes is located at 68 Hwy 334 between Hwy 6 and Exxon and open Thursday, noon to 5 p.m.; Friday, noon to 6 p.m.; Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
