Delta Steak Company To Host Benefit In Memory of Chef Adam Tuck

The Delta Steak Company is hosting a benefit in memory of Adam Tuck, the restaurant’s late and beloved lunch chef and kitchen manager, on Saturday, May 21, from noon until 3 p.m.
The benefit will raise money to give to Tuck’s family to pay for funeral expenses and will feature music, crawfish, a raffle and the chance to purchase a piece of “Adam” prints by artist Ann Crabtree. The “Adam” prints will be $15 each. Shane Brown will be playing the music for the benefit and will preform at 1 p.m. There will be gift certificates to be raffled off from Living Foods and Delta Steak Company, a gift basket from Mimosa Flowers, Gifts & Gourmet among the raffle.
“She made an angel and named it Adam, and we are going to have ‘Adam’ prints available,” said Erin Sanders, an owner of Delta Steak Company, of the “Adam” prints.
Dixie Crawfish will help supply the crawfish for the benefit and Allen Sanders, Erin’s husband and owner of Delta Steak Company, will cook the crawfish. Erin said hotdogs and burgers would also be on the menu for Saturday as well as to-go plates.
“We will do all you can eat [crawfish] for $30, and 3.5 pounds for $18 and burgers and hot dogs,” Erin said.
Tuck was a native of Belzoni, Mississippi, where he graduated from Humphrey’s Academy. Upon graduating high school, Tuck received a degree in computer programming from Mississippi Delta Community College and later enrolled at Delta State University in the Delta Music Institute Program. After creating his own food masterpiece’s at Tuck’s Place in Belzoni, Tuck moved to Oxford and became the lunch chef, fry cook and kitchen manager at the Delta Steak Company. The Sanders family and Tuck were more than work acquaintances; they were close friends.
“Whether it’s $100 or $1,000 that we raise, we just wanted to do something for Adam’s family,” Erin said.
