Chick-fil-A Hosts Bingo for Senior Citizens
Oxford senior citizens had a blast Friday morning at Chick-fil-A on West Jackson Avenue the restaurant hosted bingo from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. in honor of National Senior Citizens Day.
Alley Bell, marketing director for Chick-fil-A, said that Chick-fil-A hosts bingo every Wednesday morning at 8 a.m., but Friday’s bingo was filled with prizes. Winners won various types of gift cards ranging from an order of fries to a breakfast meal.
“We did open it up to the community, and we had three new people come, which I think was great,” Bell said. “I think they had a lot of fun, and it’s always really rewarding to spend time with them and hear their stories of their lives. It just really teaches me a lot.”
Seniors agreed that the fellowship with friends is the best part of having bingo at Chick-fil-A.
“We have a lot of fun,” Gary Carter said. “We could sleep late or do yard work, but we get to come out and have some fun with some friends. We enjoy doing that.”
Sylvia Zebrowski said she generally sleeps until around 10 a.m. But on bingo days, she’s up by 6 a.m.
“My mother loves bingo and has always loved bingo,” Zebrowski said. “She can’t drive anymore, so I drive her over. We love it.”
Faye Fudge said she is grateful that Chick-fil-A hosted bingo for National Senior Citizens Day.
“It’s very nice of them,” Fudge said. “We appreciate it so much.”
Chick-fil-A also offered a free small coffee or a free small milkshake to all senior citizens to celebrate the national day. Chick-fil-A hosts bingo every Wednesday at 8 a.m. and welcomes all to join in the fun.
