Cooking Up Fun at the Memphis Cotton Museum

HottyToddy.com food writer Laurie Triplette served up some Christmas cheer to children and adults on Saturday at the Memphis Cotton Museum’s Gimme Some Holiday Fun event.

Triplette felt right at home in her native city and at the downtown museum dedicated to the history of cotton. Her own father, Louis Daltroff, and her brother, Andy Daltroff, were members of the Memphis Cotton Exchange, with Andy the youngest known member ever to have been elected.

Triplette, the author of Gimme Some Sugar, Darlin,’ made Chocolate Trash candy with the help of youngsters in attendance.

“Just like you did at home with granny, one lucky kid got to lick the spoon,” said Triplette. “She was so happy.”
