Lunch Watch: Fight White Death With the Don Vito at Soulshine
There’s a sloppy, drizzling rain outside, with temperatures dropping. Comfort food is the order of the day. And I don’t typically enjoy an adult beverage at lunch, but, hey, it’s Friday, and, after all, one must brace oneself for the impending supposed White Death ice storm fracas.
I would have gone for Wonder bread and whole milk, but screaming, frantic, falling-down masses already toted them out of area grocery stores by the armful this week. As if milk is what you drink during an ice storm.
And so it was that I found myself enjoying the Don Vito at Soulshine Pizza. It’s stats include Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, feta and ricotta cheeses, ground beef and Italian sausage. This time, accompanied by Shiner Holiday Cheer beer.
Duly fortified with the aforementioned nutrition, I laugh in the face of the White Death. In the words of the immortal Richard Pryor, “You gonna have to TAKE me!”
Soulshine Pizza is at 308 South Lamar.
