Rebel Roundup: Ole Miss Volleyball Defeats LSU 3-1

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss volleyball won its second consecutive SEC match on Sunday when the Rebels defeated LSU, 3-1.

Nia Washington had a career-high 28 kills (fourth-most in a single match in program history) as Ole Miss improved to 12-3 overall and 2-1 in SEC play. Sasha Ratliff also became the Rebels’ all-time leader in blocks after four blocks against LSU. She now has 439 in her career.

The Rebels won the first set of Sunday’s match 25-20 and followed with an identical score in the second set, leaving Ole Miss one set away from securing the win.

However, LSU fought back in the third set, winning it 25-21. The Tigers couldn’t repeat the feat in the fourth set with Ole Miss winning 25-19 and securing the 3-1 match victory.

Ole Miss will make a quick turnaround and prepare to host Texas A&M on Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m. CT for Party in the ‘Sip Night.

Ole Miss announced the signings of 17 players across six sports at the start of the NCAA early signing period on Wednesday.

The Rebels welcomed new players in men and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, softball and volleyball.

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women’s basketball team is primed for a great season and that’s reflected in the USA Today Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Rebels debut as the No. 21 team in the poll that was announced Thursday. They’re coming off a 24-9 seasons that also saw them win 12 SEC games.

Under the leadership of seventh-year coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, Ole Miss has played in the last three NCAA tournaments and hopes to continue that trend in the upcoming season.

Ole Miss is one of seven SEC teams included in the preseason poll. The Rebels are joined by No.1 South Carolina, No. 4 Texas, No. 7 LSU, No. 10 Oklahoma, No. 22 Kentucky and No. 25 Alabama.

Eight players from last year’s NCAA Tournament squad returned to Oxford, including two-time All-SEC member Madison Scott. Kennedy Todd-Williams and KK Deans are projected to accompany Scott in the starting lineup. Todd-Williams averaged the third-most points for the Rebels last season with 10.6 and Deans started in six games last year.

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss men’s golf is ranked No. 1 in the nation for the first time in program history.

The Rebels reached the top spot in the Scoreboard Powered by Clippd National Collegiate Golf Rankings after winning their final two tournaments of the fall season. The Rebels wrapped their fall slate with two victories and four finishes inside the top two. Across the four tournaments, Ole Miss had nine top 10 finishes, one individual win, and five golfers finish inside the top five at least once.

Michael La Sasso led the Rebels this fall with a 69.33 stroke-average. Five different Rebels had six or more round in red figures. La Sasso led the team with eight rounds in the 60s. La Sasso, Cameron Tankersley, and Cohen Trolio each had three top 10 finishes across the four events.
