OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss won’t get a chance to welcome Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC on the gridiron, but they’ll get a chance on other playing fields.

The Rebels will host Texas in the first meeting between the two teams since the 2003 NCAA tournament when Ole Miss won its first-ever tournament match 1-0. It’ll also be the Rebels’ SEC home opener and the last SEC school to open conference play at home against Texas won 1-0 (against No. 9 Mississippi State).

Ole Miss needs a win after falling 1-0 to LSU on Sunday to fall to 0-2 in SEC games (5-6 overall).

Through 11 games, Kayla Keefer leads Ole Miss in scoring with four goals and two assists. Kelly Brady is second with three goals and one assist and nine other players have scored at least one goal.

Shu Ohba has been the Rebels’ main goalkeeper with seven starts this season. She’s allowed eight total goals and has a 1.21 goals against average and .778 save percentage.

Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday in Oxford.
